Principal's Message

Greetings from the Principal, Kasthurba College for Women. It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our website.

          Kasthurba College for Women was established in the year 2005 to cater predominantly to the educational needs of rural women students and to help them emerge academically strong, financially independent, socially aware, environmentally conscious and morally upstanding. Together with this, we also aim to make them mindful of themselves, so that they become self-aware, self-confident and have a self-esteem that no one can shake or shatter. The value of personal discipline is recognised and inculcated in various aspects of their training to shape them into the women that not just the college but the country can be proud of.

          These are times when teachers and students are standing on the threshold of revolutionary learning. Circumstances have brought about challenges surmounting former barriers of time and distance. We have recognised the need to rise up to these challenges and to bring about a satisfactory teaching-learning change, as well as to be prepared for evolving patterns of “knowing”. Most especially, we endeavour to “adapt” quickly and easily to change so that knowledge can be imparted seamlessly. The commitment, hopes and dreams of the institution, the staff and the students collectively assist towards attaining these common goals.

          As an institution, our period of existence has not been very long but that in no way scores out what has been achieved. We value each step that we have taken thus far and endeavour to rise above circumstances and challenges to emerge as a model institution producing generations of “complete” women.
